Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
After a clean install of Windows 10 on this computer, I fully updated everything and all drivers. Except, Windows could not find the appropriate driver for the PCI Encrytpion/Decryption Controller. Windows could not find the driver for it, and I am asking if there is a driver to download for it. The exact quote in Device Manager is ' The drivers for this device are not installed. Is there even a driver for this computer? Specs: HP Notebook - 15-r132wm 4gb RAM ![]() Intel HD Graphics` Windows 10 Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz

Solved! 08-14-201604:27 PM Hi: This should be the driver you need for that device... This package provides the Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface (TXE) Driver for the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. The Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface enables the Secure Boot and provides services required for platform security features such as Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PPT). File name: sp69602.exe

Solved! 08-14-201605:00 PM It seem this was already installed, so i repaired it and now the device is completely gone from Device Manager and any updates checked through Windows Update or HP Support Assistant gives no necessary device/driver updates/downloads. So I guess this is a good fix. So thank you!

10-20-201410:16 AM Hi, I recently purchased a 15-g077nr with amd based hardware. removed windows 8 and installed windows 7. installed amd catalyst from their website and it took care of *most* of the hardware drivers, etc. although, i am missing the 'SM Bus Controller' and 'PCI EncryptionDecryption Controller' drivers. Any idea where i can get these? Not sure if this relates to my usb 3.0 issue. I purchased a usb 3.0 display adaptor, to vga, and it does not work on the 3.0 port. If i plug it into the 2.0 ports, it works but only at 800x600 resolution (and it says it requires 3.0 to utilize higher resolutions in the manual). My monitor is a Samsung 213T which its native is 1600x1200 and my usb adaptor supports that resolution also. Samsung does not have 64bit drivers for this monitor, which I think is irrelivent anyways. If the adaptor supports 1600x1200 with a plug-n-play driver, it should work fine. So the problem must lie in the usb 3.0 functionality. HP did a logmein virtual pc thing, attempted to fix it, but couldnt. their basically telling me to restore the system to windows 8 for the usb 3.0 and all associated drivers to work properly. Obviously, i think that was just a cop-out because they couldnt resolve my issue. I'm pretty tech savvy, so when my buddies ask me to fix their machines, i typically tell them to do the 'nuke and restore' just to save me the hours of troubleshooting. I do not see any reason why new hardware, would not be compatible with an OS still supported by microsoft. Especially with the awesomeness of the internet, I should be able to find the darn drivers! So, where can I find the two missing drivers, AND will these two drivers allow me to utilize the usb 3.0 functionality? Its also worth mentioning that under device manager, my usb 3.0 devicesdrivers DO pull up fine, the controller and the port. Later today I will be using my usb flash drive to run a live edition of ubuntukali linux. I almost guarentee that the usb 3.0 will work fine, but ill find out later. AMD is pretty good about supporting their hardware under linuxunix. help please! I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.

10-20-201411:15 AM - edited 10-20-201411:16 AM Hi: Here is what you need to do for the smbus controller... I have zipped up and attached below under Attachments, the raw smbus controller driver files for you to unzip and manually install. Download and unzip the file. Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install. Then reboot. PCI E/D Controller: This driver should work and you may have to also manually install it too if the auto install doesn't get it. To manually install this driver, click on it follow the same steps as for the smbus controller but browse to C:SWSetupsp66974. USB3 drivers...DL and install both of these...

10-23-201401:06 PM As a follow up to your last post, and seeing your other posts, did you know for a fact that the USB3 port was working when you first bought the notebook? I find it exceedingly odd that the USB3 drivers I posted above for W7 didn't work, when they have worked for dozens of other forum members with notebooks with the same or similar hardware and now after you reinstalled W8.1, they don't work either. Dell Pci Encryption Decryption Controller DriverAs I stated on your other post, there are no standalone drivers for USB3 support for PC's running Windows 8 or 8.1. That leads me to believe that the USB3 port in your PC is defective, or there is an incorrect BIOS setting. Some of these new notebooks have settings for how you want the USB 3 port to act (as a USB3 port only, or auto (USB2/3). I'm thinking at this point you ought to be calling HP technical support and file a support case under the warranty.
